Clem’s General Store, with Jayne Mansfield, Jamie Farr, Jesse White – The Red Skelton Show season 9 – broadcast October 6, 1959
Clem Kadiddlehopper wants to propose to the lovely Daisy June (Jayne Mansfield). But she won’t accept — until he’s a success. So, he goes to get a job at the general store.

Despite any common sense, the store owner hires Clem, to watch the store while he’s out. And after some prop comedy with a pickle barrel, while Clem’s in back, two escaped convicts come in! Nose (Jamie Farr) and Moose (Jesse White).

The sheriff and his bloodhounds arrive at the store, The convicts, now dressed in street clothes, “help” him by taking him to Clem! Thankfully, the sheriff is Clem’s cousin, and Clem realizes that the sheriff’s wearing the wrong glasses! One the right pair’s on, he sees who the convicts are, and the convicts hold them at gunpoint! Thankfully, Daisy June has her shotgun!
