Clem the Campus Soda Jerk – The Red Skelton Show season 3, broadcast
Red’s opening monologue contains several coffee jokes.
Clem Kaddiddlehopper goes to the Brady Employment Agency to obtain a job. If he can make it past the swinging door! He’s then interviewed by the owner, Mr. Brady. Which leads to a lot of prop comedy, as Clem pulls out a ridiculous amount of props out of his suitcase, looking for his recommendation. Eventually, Mr. Brady sends him to the Campus Soda Shop to be a soda jerk.
On the job, Clem first does some prop comedy, then insults a plump woman who orders a huge banana split. Talk about your sinking feeling!
Clem next runs into more troubles when a fraternity pledge, is ordered to change his order multiple times to get into the group. A ham sandwich without bread? And then tortures Clem with the ‘broken’ jukebox!
