The Train Trip is a series of sketches with Freddie the Freeloader, San Fernando Red, Willie Lump-Lump taking a trip on The Red Skelton Show
During the opening monologue, Red tells a joke about his children. In an attempt to keep them quiet Sunday morning. before they go to Sunday school, Red proposes a contest between Valentina and Richard. Whoever keeps quiet the longest wins a prize. So at six in the morning, Richard sneaks into Red’s bedroom, opens one eyelid, and asks, “Who’s winning?”
Red then pantomimes a boxing match between a large fighter, a small fighter, and the referee.

Willie Lump Lump decides which city to visit on his train trip.
San Fernando Red makes a whistle-stop campaign appearance.
Freddie the Freeloader rides the rails with Melvin the Moocher, only to get frozen when the train climbs a mountain. So, he thaws out at the ski lodge.
