Sit Down You’re Rocking the Vote – The Red Skelton Hour season 13 – Who would vote for Clem Kadiddlehopper for mayor? The farm animals! Then, Red’s running an old-time butcher shop. What could go wrong?
Sit Down You’re Rocking the Vote – The Red Skelton Hour season 13, broadcast January 14, 1964
Who would vote for Clem Kadiddlehopper for mayor? The farm animals, of course!
Act I

The episode begins innocently enough, with a day at the Kadiddlehopper farm. Pa Kadiddlehopper simply wants his son Clem Kadiddlehopper to do some work. The horse must be shod. So, Clem takes a rifle, walks off stage, and a shot is heard! “He’s shot, Pa.” No, he wanted him shoed! So Clem walks offstage and shouts ‘shoo’! “He ain’t movin’, Pa — he’s dead.” Eventually, Pa explains that Clem is now old enough to vote, and wants to vote for Mayor Stickyfingers’ reelection!
Act II
In town, the Mayor is making a photo opportunity, at the construction of a new building — which he humbly names after himself. Until Clem drops the cornerstone on Mayor Stickyfingers!

Election time – Act III
But, Mayor Stickyfingers needs an incompetent adversary for the upcoming election. So, he chooses Clem! Who clearly nobody would vote for! Until Clem suggests, and the voters agree, that the farm animals should be able to vote!

The Silent Spot, A Day in the Butcher’s Shop
A Day in the Butcher’s shop is a very funny skit, with Red Skelton as a butcher. The equipment in the shop seems to backfire — especially the cash register. But when a customer comes in and wants some freshly made sausages is when it really goes off the rails! First, he unintentionally gets his tie stuck in the sausage! Then, he’s missing a couple of fingers! And when he finds them, he reattaches them to the wrong hand!
